Editorial summary

The public source identifies “Karnataka” as indian state. This brief keeps that definition visible, then builds a research path around Karnataka, Indian and state.

Editorial reviewA practical starting point whose main value is the path it opens into stronger specialist and primary sources. The current lead gives the account dated anchors—1956, 1973, 2011, 2023—that can be checked directly. The linked authority record independently contributes the date 1956-11-01. Its value is orientation rather than verdict, with Karnataka, Indian and state providing the first useful test.
Editorial analysis

Why this record matters

A short description can identify a subject without explaining its stakes. For “Karnataka”, the useful work is to connect “indian state” to the records capable of establishing context and consequence.

Evidence profile

Named sources, stable identifiers and responsible institutions provide the strongest route from overview to verifiable evidence. The source revision retrieved here is dated Sep 26, 2026. The linked authority identifier is Q1185. VIAF identifies the subject as 131714783. The Library of Congress control number is n79125091. Authority coordinates are 15.000, 76.000. 2 of 6 selected statements include explicit references; 2 carry qualifiers and 0 use preferred rank. The first chronological checks are 1956, 1973, 2011 and 2023.

Critical limits

A concise general-reference account can conceal disagreements about scope, terminology or the weight assigned to individual sources. The lead is largely declarative, so disagreement and counter-evidence require a deliberate search beyond the opening account. Authority statements aid reconciliation but still require their own references, qualifiers and ranks to be checked.

How to read it
