Source-derived summary

The following is a list of characters for the Yu-Gi-Oh! anime series, Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal and its sequel, Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal II. When applicable, names from English-language anime are on the left, while the original Japanese names (as featured in the English-language manga) are provided on the right. Character descriptions pertain to the Japanese version of the anime.

Main characters

Yuma Tsukumo (九十九 遊馬, Tsukumo Yūma)

Voiced by: Tasuku Hatanaka (Japanese); Eli James (English)

Yuma Tsukumo is the main protagonist of the series, an energetic 13-year-old boy who is an underachiever in both school and duels, but always takes on any challenges and never gives up; an ethic he dubs "Feeling the Flow" "High the Sky" or "Kattobingu da ore" (かっとビング, Kattobingu; adapted from the Japanese word "katto"). Yuma is the current duel champion of Heartland City. Yuma's dream is to become the strongest duelist in the universe, but his dueling skills aren't up to par yet. He wears a unique key called the "Emperor's Key" that is given to him by his traveling parents. The key unlocks a door to another dimension, where he encounters Astral.

Editorial summary

This brief starts where responsible research should: with the source description of “List of Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal characters” as wikimedia list article. Everything that follows is an evidence route, not borrowed authority.

Editorial reviewA concise reference frame for defining the subject, testing terminology and identifying the institution closest to the evidence. The current 185-word lead offers orientation but no explicit four-digit date, so chronology should not be assumed. The selected authority fields contribute no independent date. The account is most persuasive where List, Yu-Gi-Oh and Zexal can be independently traced.
Editorial analysis

Why this record matters

The subject matters to the general reference register because the source frames it as wikimedia list article. Its deeper value depends on whether names, dates, institutions and citations support that framing.

Evidence profile

Vocabulary and entity names are the principal evidence signals here, because they determine the precision of every later search. The source revision retrieved here is dated Sep 3, 2026. The linked authority identifier is Q3253060. None of the 0 selected statements returned an explicit reference.

Critical limits

The absence of detail may reflect summary conventions rather than a lack of surviving documentation. The lead is largely declarative, so disagreement and counter-evidence require a deliberate search beyond the opening account. Authority statements aid reconciliation but still require their own references, qualifiers and ranks to be checked.

How to read it
