Thomastown Township is a township in Wadena County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 824 at the 2020 census.
Thomastown Township was named for Thomas Scott, an early settler.
Geography
According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 42.0 square miles (108.7 km2); 41.0 square miles (106.1 km2) of it is land and 1.0 square miles (2.6 km2) of it (2.41%) is water.
The Crow Wing River is joined by its tributaries the Leaf and Partridge Rivers in the township. One property within the township, the Old Wadena Historic District, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Demographics
As of the census of 2000, there were 714 people, 251 households, and 211 families residing in the township. The population density was 17.4 people per square mile (6.7/km2). There were 311 housing units at an average density of 7.6/sq mi (2.9/km2). The racial makeup of the township was 98.60% White, 0.14% Native American, 0.28% Asian, 0.28% from other races, and 0.70% from two or more races.
