Humanity

Humanity is an ongoing series of seven albums created by Norwegian composer Thomas J. Bergersen, of Two Steps from Hell fame; his third through ninth solo studio albums, described as an "evolution" of the preceding Illusions (2011) and Sun (2014).

The seven "chapters" each relate musically to a different theme regarding the "ranges of human emotion and history". Bergersen began work on the series in 2014. After six years of development, the first chapter was released in July 2020. The subsequent albums have been released in intervals of several months. Six of the seven chapters have been released as of July 2026.

The series artwork was designed by Sam Hayles.

Chapter I

The first album, Chapter I, was released on 1 July 2020. Its theme is freedom.

Editorial summary

The public source identifies “Thomas Bergersen discography” as artist discography. This brief keeps that definition visible, then builds a research path around Thomas, Bergersen and discography.

Editorial reviewA productive starting point for separating a subject’s documented career from later reputation and commemoration. The current lead gives the account dated anchors—2011, 2014, 2020, 2026—that can be checked directly. The selected authority fields contribute no independent date. Its value is orientation rather than verdict, with Thomas, Bergersen and discography providing the first useful test.
Editorial analysis

Why this record matters

A short description can identify a subject without explaining its stakes. For “Thomas Bergersen discography”, the useful work is to connect “artist discography” to the records capable of establishing context and consequence.

Evidence profile

Chronology provides the most reliable spine for this subject; interpretation should follow only after identities and dates are secure. The source revision retrieved here is dated Aug 25, 2026. The linked authority identifier is Q17486459. None of the 0 selected statements returned an explicit reference. The first chronological checks are 2011, 2014, 2020 and 2026.

Critical limits

Public reputation and documentary evidence do not always develop together; absence from a summary is not evidence of historical absence. The lead is largely declarative, so disagreement and counter-evidence require a deliberate search beyond the opening account. Authority statements aid reconciliation but still require their own references, qualifiers and ranks to be checked.

How to read it

Read biographical claims against dates, named institutions and the cited references. Distinguish a subject’s later reputation from evidence produced during their lifetime.
