History
The University of Hyderabad (UoH), also known as Hyderabad Central University, was established in 1974 by an Act of Parliament. It was founded as part of the Six-Point Formula of 1973, which aimed to address regional disparities in education and development in the state of Andhra Pradesh (now Telangana). The university began its academic journey in 'The Golden Threshold' (GT), a historic estate in the heart of Hyderabad, which was bequeathed to the university by Sarojini Naidu's family.

Why this record matters
“University of Hyderabad” is worth following because a concise public description often conceals a longer documentary argument. Here, University, Hyderabad and university provides the most credible route into that argument.
The record creator and administrative purpose are central evidence, because official documentation reflects both action and institutional priorities. The source revision retrieved here is dated Sep 21, 2026. The linked authority identifier is Q1191166. VIAF identifies the subject as 147784366. The Library of Congress control number is n83125521. Authority coordinates are 17.457, 78.326. 4 of 6 selected statements include explicit references; 1 carry qualifiers and 0 use preferred rank. The first chronological checks are 1974, 2020, 2025 and 1973.
Institutional narratives can privilege the records that survived while minimizing voices that were never formally collected. The lead is largely declarative, so disagreement and counter-evidence require a deliberate search beyond the opening account. Authority statements aid reconciliation but still require their own references, qualifiers and ranks to be checked.
