Source-derived summary

Squatters Pub is a bar and restaurant with multiple locations in the U.S. state of Utah. Locations include Downtown Salt Lake City, Salt Lake International Airport, and Park City. The original location in Salt Lake City opened in 1989.

History

The business was eventually acquired by Fireman Capital Partners and integrated into the CANarchy brand alongside several other notable regional craft brewers. In 2022 CANarchy was purchased for $330 million by Monster Beverage Corporation.

As part of the deal, the brewpub locations in Utah were brought back under local control, and now operate under the brand name, Salt Lake Brewing Company. The eight locations continue to pour beer bearing the Squatters and Wasatch names.

Editorial analysis

Why this record matters

The phrase “bar and restaurant chain in Utah, United States” supplies a clear boundary for inquiry. It also exposes the unanswered questions: who defined that boundary, when it became stable and which sources sit outside it.

Evidence profile

Named sources, stable identifiers and responsible institutions provide the strongest route from overview to verifiable evidence. The source revision retrieved here is dated Aug 4, 2026. The linked authority identifier is Q106899707. Authority coordinates are 40.763, -111.896. None of the 2 selected statements returned an explicit reference. The first chronological checks are 1989 and 2022.

Critical limits

Overview language is designed for orientation and should not be treated as a substitute for the evidence cited beneath it. The lead is largely declarative, so disagreement and counter-evidence require a deliberate search beyond the opening account. Authority statements aid reconciliation but still require their own references, qualifiers and ranks to be checked.

How to read it

Use the entry as an orientation point, then follow its citations and revision history. Names, dates and institutional relationships should be checked against the original record.
