List of The Walking Dead (comics) characters

The following is a list of characters from The Walking Dead comic book series, created by Robert Kirkman. Plot structure and characterization between the comic and television series can be similar, derivative, or in many cases almost entirely unrelated.

Character timelines

Atlanta arc (volumes 1–2)

The first two volumes of The Walking Dead focus on Rick Grimes, who journeys from Grant County, Kentucky to find his family, as well as survivors of a camp in Atlanta, Georgia, and the Greene Family Farm on its outskirts. They were adapted into the first and second seasons of The Walking Dead.

Prison arc (volumes 3–8)

Volumes three to eight of The Walking Dead centre around the survivors living in the Meriwether County Correctional Facility, an abandoned prison, amid tensions with Woodbury, a neighbouring community run by The Governor. They were adapted into seasons three and four of The Walking Dead.

Road to Washington arc (volumes 9–11)

Volumes nine to eleven of The Walking Dead depict the survivors on the road to Washington, and their encounters with the Marauders and the cannibalistic Hunters. They were adapted into seasons four and five of The Walking Dead.

Alexandria arc (volumes 12–15)

Volumes twelve to fifteen of The Walking Dead depict the survivors adjusting to life living in the Alexandria Safe-Zone, Virginia, six miles south from Washington. They were adapted into seasons five and six of The Walking Dead.
