Soviet Amateur Cup
Open-knowledge reference entry

Football Cup of the Soviet Union for teams of physical culture collectives (Russian: Кубок СССР по футболу среди команд коллективов физической культуры, romanized: Kubok SSR po futbolu spedi komand kollektivov fizichkoy kyl'tur') was an association football competition for amateur teams and physical culture collectives that was held in the Soviet Union from 1957 to 1991 under the auspices of the Football Federation of the Soviet Union. Throughout its history, the tournament was also known as the VTsSPS Cup, Soviet Cup among production collectives, and Cup of the millions.
In 1957 in the Soviet football took place another reform, after which physical culture collectives (amateur teams) were restricted from competing in the Soviet Cup and for them was organized a separate tournament. The competition was conducted among the best "collectives of physical culture" that won their respective regional Cup competitions. In 1962–1967 the winner was identified in the final group stage. In 1981–1988 the competition was not conducted.

Begin with the source’s own compact description: “Soviet Amateur Cup” is open-knowledge reference entry. The dossier treats that line as a proposition to test through Soviet, Amateur and Open-knowledge, not as a finished interpretation.
Why this record matters
The phrase “open-knowledge reference entry” supplies a clear boundary for inquiry. It also exposes the unanswered questions: who defined that boundary, when it became stable and which sources sit outside it.
Vocabulary and entity names are the principal evidence signals here, because they determine the precision of every later search. The source revision retrieved here is dated Sep 2, 2026. The linked authority identifier is Q15918793. 1 of 1 selected statements include explicit references; 0 carry qualifiers and 0 use preferred rank. The first chronological checks are 1957, 1991, 1962 and 1967.
The absence of detail may reflect summary conventions rather than a lack of surviving documentation. The lead is largely declarative, so disagreement and counter-evidence require a deliberate search beyond the opening account. Authority statements aid reconciliation but still require their own references, qualifiers and ranks to be checked.
