Source-derived summary

Sedum lampusae is a species of flowering plant in the family Crassulaceae. It is an erect herb to 50 cm (20 in), dying after one flowering. Basal leaves flat, glaucous, fleshy, spoon-shaped, 4–10 cm (1.6–3.9 in) long, forming neat rosette which usually shrivels before the flowers open; steam leaves progressively smaller; inflorescence a long cylindrical or pyramidal spray, flowers numerous, crowded, brownish green, calyx-lobes and petals both 5, the latter narrow, pointed, 4 mm long, with a dark central vein. Stamens 10, follicles usually 5, erect, 5 mm long. Flowers from June to August. Common name is Lapta Damkoruğu.

Habitat

Walls, rock crevices and dry stony slopes.

Distribution

Endemic to Northern Cyprus. Frequent along the Kyrenia Range, notably at and above Lapta (whence the specific name).

Editorial summary

The public source identifies “Sedum lampusae” as species of plant. This brief keeps that definition visible, then builds a research path around Sedum, lampusae and species.

Editorial reviewA sound reference starting point where classification, measurement and the date of the underlying evidence remain visible. The current 126-word lead offers orientation but no explicit four-digit date, so chronology should not be assumed. The selected authority fields contribute no independent date. Its value is orientation rather than verdict, with Sedum, lampusae and species providing the first useful test.
Editorial analysis

Why this record matters

A short description can identify a subject without explaining its stakes. For “Sedum lampusae”, the useful work is to connect “species of plant” to the records capable of establishing context and consequence.

Evidence profile

Datasets, specimens, observations and peer-reviewed methods provide the appropriate test for the technical claims summarized here. The source revision retrieved here is dated Aug 7, 2026. The linked authority identifier is Q16992489. None of the 0 selected statements returned an explicit reference.

Critical limits

A general summary may omit uncertainty, sample limits or methodological disagreement that is explicit in the technical record. The lead is largely declarative, so disagreement and counter-evidence require a deliberate search beyond the opening account. Authority statements aid reconciliation but still require their own references, qualifiers and ranks to be checked.

How to read it

Check terminology, classification and the date of the cited evidence. Scientific names and technical consensus can change while older records retain historical value.
