Source-derived summary

Rhenefictus wandae is a species of jumping spider in the genus Rhenefictus that lives in China and Vietnam. First described in 2021 by Cheng Wang and Shuqiang Li, it was initially allocated to the genus Rhene. In 2022, the species was acknowledged as the same as Rhenefictus tropicus and the two were synonymised under the current name. It is the type species of the genus Rhenefictus. Only the male has been described. The spider is small, with a dark red or dark brown carapace between 2.35 and 2.4 mm (0.093 and 0.094 in) long and a brown abdomen between 2.4 and 2.98 mm (0.094 and 0.117 in) long. The base of the abdomen is grey-yellow. The spider has a distinctive embolus on its palpal bulb that is coiled and whip-like, terminating in a pointed tip.

Taxonomy

Rhene wandae was first described by Cheng Wang and Shuqiang Li in 2021. The species is named after the Polish arachnologist Wanda Wesołowska.

Editorial summary

“Rhenefictus wandae” enters the record as species of spider. Crown Archives preserves that source wording while asking what Rhenefictus, wandae and species can confirm, complicate or overturn.

Editorial reviewA practical orientation to terminology and classification, particularly when read beside dated observations, specimens or technical literature. The current lead gives the account dated anchors—2021, 2022—that can be checked directly. The selected authority fields contribute no independent date. Its strongest next move is a source search built around Rhenefictus, wandae and species.
Editorial analysis

Why this record matters

“Rhenefictus wandae” is worth following because a concise public description often conceals a longer documentary argument. Here, Rhenefictus, wandae and species provides the most credible route into that argument.

Evidence profile

Stable identifiers, scientific names and standards terminology offer the best bridge between this overview and specialist evidence. The source revision retrieved here is dated Apr 14, 2025. The linked authority identifier is Q116254899. None of the 0 selected statements returned an explicit reference. The first chronological checks are 2021 and 2022.

Critical limits

Current terminology should not be projected backward without checking the classification used when the underlying evidence was created. The lead is largely declarative, so disagreement and counter-evidence require a deliberate search beyond the opening account. Authority statements aid reconciliation but still require their own references, qualifiers and ranks to be checked.

How to read it

Check terminology, classification and the date of the cited evidence. Scientific names and technical consensus can change while older records retain historical value.
