Source-derived summary

NuScale Power Corporation is a publicly traded American company that markets its proposed designs for small modular reactors (SMRs). It is headquartered in Tigard, Oregon. The company's proposed VOYGR power plant, which would use 50 MWe modules and scale to 12 modules, was the first SMR design to be certified by the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) (2022). The newer 77 MWe module designs, known as the VOYGR-4 and VOYGR-6, were submitted for NRC review on January 1, 2023, and approved May 29, 2025. NuScale is now seeking NRC approval for their 12-module, VOYGR-12. The SMR is planned to be scalable, offering up to 924 MWe.

Editorial summary

This brief starts where responsible research should: with the source description of “NuScale Power” as american nuclear technology company. Everything that follows is an evidence route, not borrowed authority.

Editorial reviewUseful for establishing the present vocabulary of the subject while preserving a route back to the evidence on which that vocabulary rests. The current lead gives the account dated anchors—2022, 2023, 2025—that can be checked directly. The selected authority fields contribute no independent date. The account is most persuasive where NuScale, Power and American can be independently traced.
Editorial analysis

Why this record matters

The subject matters to the science & nature register because the source frames it as american nuclear technology company. Its deeper value depends on whether names, dates, institutions and citations support that framing.

Evidence profile

The date and method of observation matter as much as the stated conclusion, especially where classification or consensus has changed. The source revision retrieved here is dated Sep 22, 2026. The first chronological checks are 2022, 2023 and 2025.

Critical limits

Current terminology should not be projected backward without checking the classification used when the underlying evidence was created. The source lead contains qualifying language; that uncertainty should survive quotation, summary and reuse. Authority statements aid reconciliation but still require their own references, qualifiers and ranks to be checked.

How to read it

Check terminology, classification and the date of the cited evidence. Scientific names and technical consensus can change while older records retain historical value.
