Source-derived summary

8 Simple Rules (originally known as 8 Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter for its first two seasons) is an American television sitcom that originally aired on ABC from September 17, 2002 to April 15, 2005. Loosely based on humor columnist W. Bruce Cameron's book of the same name, the show starred John Ritter during its first season. After Ritter's sudden death, Katey Sagal took over the show's starring position for the rest of the series' run. In total, 76 episodes were produced, spanning three seasons.

Why this record matters

A short description can identify a subject without explaining its stakes. For “List of 8 Simple Rules episodes”, the useful work is to connect “wikimedia list article” to the records capable of establishing context and consequence.

Evidence profile

The citation trail is more important than the brevity of the summary: it shows where individual claims can be examined in context. The source revision retrieved here is dated May 23, 2026. The linked authority identifier is Q3788620. None of the 0 selected statements returned an explicit reference. The first chronological checks are 2002 and 2005.

Critical limits

Overview language is designed for orientation and should not be treated as a substitute for the evidence cited beneath it. The lead is largely declarative, so disagreement and counter-evidence require a deliberate search beyond the opening account. Authority statements aid reconciliation but still require their own references, qualifiers and ranks to be checked.

How to read it

Use the entry as an orientation point, then follow its citations and revision history. Names, dates and institutional relationships should be checked against the original record.
