“Nikolai Remizov” enters the record as russian and American artist, caroonist and art director (1887–1975). Crown Archives preserves that source wording while asking what Nikolai, Remizov and Russian can confirm, complicate or overturn.
Why this record matters
“Nikolai Remizov” is worth following because a concise public description often conceals a longer documentary argument. Here, Nikolai, Remizov and Russian provides the most credible route into that argument.
The entry’s evidential value lies in the named roles, institutions and publications that can be tested against primary documentation. The source revision retrieved here is dated Jul 4, 2026. The linked authority identifier is Q3339935. VIAF identifies the subject as 96143931. The Library of Congress control number is n86029636. 4 of 5 selected statements include explicit references; 1 carry qualifiers and 1 use preferred rank. The first chronological checks are 1887, 1975, 1917 and 1939.
Public reputation and documentary evidence do not always develop together; absence from a summary is not evidence of historical absence. The source lead contains qualifying language; that uncertainty should survive quotation, summary and reuse. Authority statements aid reconciliation but still require their own references, qualifiers and ranks to be checked.
