Demographics

As of the 2020 census there were 1,024 people, 432 households, and 294 families residing in the township. The population density was 25.13 inhabitants per square mile (9.70/km2). There were 489 housing units at an average density of 12.00 per square mile (4.63/km2). The racial makeup of the township was 92.38% White, 0.88% African American, 0.20% Native American, 0.49% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.98% from other races, and 5.08% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 3.61% of the population.

There were 432 households, out of which 13.20% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 63.89% were married couples living together, 2.55% had a female householder with no spouse present, and 31.94% were non-families. 26.60% of all households were made up of individuals, and 10.00% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
