Nornuciferine
chemical compound

Nornuciferine, also known as 15781 or as 1,2-dimethoxynoraporphine, is a noraporphine alkaloid found in Nelumbo nucifera and a serotonin 5-HT2C receptor agonist related to the aporphine alkaloid nuciferine. It is the N-desmethyl analogue of nuciferine. The drug has been found to act as a selective partial agonist of the serotonin 5-HT2C receptor, with an EC50Tooltip half-maximal effective concentration of 653 nM and an EmaxTooltip maximal efficacy of 66% in terms of Gq signaling. Conversely, it was inactive as an agonist of the serotonin 5-HT2A and 5-HT2B receptors, but did show weak antagonism of these receptors at high concentrations. The serotonin 5-HT2C receptor agonism of nornuciferine was described by Bingjie Zhang and colleagues in 2020.
“Nornuciferine” enters the record as chemical compound. Crown Archives preserves that source wording while asking what Nornuciferine, chemical and compound can confirm, complicate or overturn.
Why this record matters
“Nornuciferine” is worth following because a concise public description often conceals a longer documentary argument. Here, Nornuciferine, chemical and compound provides the most credible route into that argument.
Datasets, specimens, observations and peer-reviewed methods provide the appropriate test for the technical claims summarized here. The source revision retrieved here is dated Apr 8, 2026. The linked authority identifier is Q76003164. None of the 0 selected statements returned an explicit reference. The first chronological checks are 2020.
A general summary may omit uncertainty, sample limits or methodological disagreement that is explicit in the technical record. The lead is largely declarative, so disagreement and counter-evidence require a deliberate search beyond the opening account. Authority statements aid reconciliation but still require their own references, qualifiers and ranks to be checked.
