Source-derived summary

Mostafa Mohamed (Arabic: مصطفى محمد; born August 18, 1985) is an amateur Egyptian Greco-Roman wrestler, who played for the men's featherweight category. Mostafa represented Egypt at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, where he competed for the men's 55 kg class. He received a bye for the preliminary round of sixteen match, before losing out to Azerbaijan's Rovshan Bayramov, with a technical score of 0–12. Because his opponent advanced further into the final match, Mohamed offered another shot for the bronze medal by entering the repechage bouts. He was defeated in the first round by Cuba's Yagnier Hernández, who was able to score nine points in two straight periods, leaving Mohamed with a single point.

Editorial analysis

Why this record matters

A short description can identify a subject without explaining its stakes. For “Mostafa Mohamed (wrestler)”, the useful work is to connect “olympic wrestler” to the records capable of establishing context and consequence.

Evidence profile

Named sources, stable identifiers and responsible institutions provide the strongest route from overview to verifiable evidence. The source revision retrieved here is dated Jul 16, 2026. The linked authority identifier is Q6916863. 1 of 1 selected statements include explicit references; 0 carry qualifiers and 0 use preferred rank. The first chronological checks are 1985 and 2008.

Critical limits

Overview language is designed for orientation and should not be treated as a substitute for the evidence cited beneath it. The lead is largely declarative, so disagreement and counter-evidence require a deliberate search beyond the opening account. Authority statements aid reconciliation but still require their own references, qualifiers and ranks to be checked.

How to read it

Use the entry as an orientation point, then follow its citations and revision history. Names, dates and institutional relationships should be checked against the original record.
