List of presidents of the Province of Bologna
Wikimedia list article

The president of the Province of Bologna was the head of the provincial administration of Bologna, a local government authority in Emilia-Romagna, Italy.
History
The office of president of the Province of Bologna was established in 1889, initially within the Provincial Deputation. Before that date, the Deputation was headed by the prefect. During the Fascist period (1926–1945), the province was governed by appointed officials, including commissioners and presidents of the Rectorate.
After World War II, the office was restored and gradually redefined within the Italian Republic, first with indirect election by the Provincial Council and, from 1993, with direct popular election.
The province was eventually replaced in 2015 by the Metropolitan City of Bologna.

Why this record matters
The phrase “wikimedia list article” supplies a clear boundary for inquiry. It also exposes the unanswered questions: who defined that boundary, when it became stable and which sources sit outside it.
The citation trail is more important than the brevity of the summary: it shows where individual claims can be examined in context. The source revision retrieved here is dated Sep 7, 2026. The linked authority identifier is Q140514640. None of the 0 selected statements returned an explicit reference. The first chronological checks are 1889, 1926, 1945 and 1993.
Overview language is designed for orientation and should not be treated as a substitute for the evidence cited beneath it. The lead is largely declarative, so disagreement and counter-evidence require a deliberate search beyond the opening account. Authority statements aid reconciliation but still require their own references, qualifiers and ranks to be checked.
