Source-derived summary

The Sinuiju Formation(신의주층) is a geologic formation in North Korea. Formerly of uncertain age, it is now thought to be Early Cretaceous. A variety of fossils are known from the formation, including those of anurognathid pterosaurs (possibly Jeholopterus) and birds such as the specimen of a very large enantiornithine with a 5 cm (2.0 in) long tibia and a 3.5 cm (1.4 in) long pygostyle. Frogs have also been found in the formation. Numerous compression fossils of insects have also been found.

Editorial summary

The public source identifies “Sinuiju Formation” as early Cretaceous formation in North Korea. This brief keeps that definition visible, then builds a research path around Sinuiju, Formation and early.

Editorial reviewA practical starting point whose main value is the path it opens into stronger specialist and primary sources. The current 82-word lead offers orientation but no explicit four-digit date, so chronology should not be assumed. The selected authority fields contribute no independent date. Its value is orientation rather than verdict, with Sinuiju, Formation and early providing the first useful test.
Editorial analysis

Why this record matters

A short description can identify a subject without explaining its stakes. For “Sinuiju Formation”, the useful work is to connect “early Cretaceous formation in North Korea” to the records capable of establishing context and consequence.

Evidence profile

The citation trail is more important than the brevity of the summary: it shows where individual claims can be examined in context. The source revision retrieved here is dated May 18, 2026. The linked authority identifier is Q7525163. Authority coordinates are 40.100, 124.400. None of the 1 selected statements returned an explicit reference.

Critical limits

Overview language is designed for orientation and should not be treated as a substitute for the evidence cited beneath it. The source lead contains qualifying language; that uncertainty should survive quotation, summary and reuse. Authority statements aid reconciliation but still require their own references, qualifiers and ranks to be checked.

How to read it

Use the entry as an orientation point, then follow its citations and revision history. Names, dates and institutional relationships should be checked against the original record.
