Jeřice (German: Jerschitz) is a municipality and village in Jičín District in the Hradec Králové Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 400 inhabitants.

Etymology
The name Jeřice is derived from the personal name Jaro (a shortened form of Jaroslav), meaning "the village of Jaro's people".
Geography
Jeřice is located about 25 kilometres (16 mi) southeast of Jičín and 18 km (11 mi) northwest of Hradec Králové. It lies mostly in a flat agricultural landscape in the East Elbe Table. The northern part of the municipality extends into the Jičín Uplands and includes the highest point of Jeřice at 325 m (1,066 ft) above sea level. The Bystřice River flows through the municipality.
History
The first written mention of Jeřice is from 1379. The owners of Jeřice often changed and included various lesser noblemen. In 1665–1748, Jeřice was a property of the Hilprandt family.
