Source-derived summary

State football leagues in India represent the premier-state and 5th overall men's and 3rd women's tier of the Indian football league system. There are currently 36 state associations affiliated with the national governing body, the All India Football Federation (AIFF).

Most of the state associations organise and have own affiliated football competitions in their respective states. The state leagues operate as a system of promotion and relegation with the I-League 3 (men's), the Indian Women's League 2 (women's), and lower regional leagues. Clubs of top national leagues (Indian Super League and I-League) also participate in their respective state leagues, most often with youth or reserve teams.

Editorial summary

“Indian State Leagues” enters the record as football league. Crown Archives preserves that source wording while asking what Indian, State and Leagues can confirm, complicate or overturn.

Editorial reviewA concise reference frame for defining the subject, testing terminology and identifying the institution closest to the evidence. The current 106-word lead offers orientation but no explicit four-digit date, so chronology should not be assumed. The selected authority fields contribute no independent date. Its strongest next move is a source search built around Indian, State and Leagues.
Editorial analysis

Why this record matters

“Indian State Leagues” is worth following because a concise public description often conceals a longer documentary argument. Here, Indian, State and Leagues provides the most credible route into that argument.

Evidence profile

Vocabulary and entity names are the principal evidence signals here, because they determine the precision of every later search. The source revision retrieved here is dated Sep 21, 2026. The linked authority identifier is Q55633923. None of the 0 selected statements returned an explicit reference.

Critical limits

The absence of detail may reflect summary conventions rather than a lack of surviving documentation. The lead is largely declarative, so disagreement and counter-evidence require a deliberate search beyond the opening account. Authority statements aid reconciliation but still require their own references, qualifiers and ranks to be checked.

How to read it

Use the entry as an orientation point, then follow its citations and revision history. Names, dates and institutional relationships should be checked against the original record.
