Hajan is at a distance of 35 km towards north of Srinagar .
Demographics
As of 2001 India census, Hajan had a population of 9916. Males constitute 52% of the population and females 48%. Hajan has an average literacy rate of 32%, lower than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 42%, and female literacy is 21%. In Hajan, 14% of the population is under 6 years of age. Hajan has a population of approximately 23,000 as of 9 December 2007.
