A film adaptation was released in 2018.
Premise
Humans have been undergoing strange mutations into giant animalistic monsters due to experiments conducted by the nefarious Scumlabs. These monsters proceed to travel across Earth and beyond, ravaging everything in sight. Heavy inspiration is drawn from various monster movies such as King Kong and 1957's 20 Million Miles to Earth. The series' three central characters are George, a scientist transformed into a gorilla-based monster; Lizzie, a woman transformed into a reptilian monster; and Ralph, a man transformed into a monster akin to werewolves.

Begin with the source’s own compact description: “Rampage (franchise)” is series of video games. The dossier treats that line as a proposition to test through Rampage, franchise and series, not as a finished interpretation.
Why this record matters
The phrase “series of video games” supplies a clear boundary for inquiry. It also exposes the unanswered questions: who defined that boundary, when it became stable and which sources sit outside it.
Named sources, stable identifiers and responsible institutions provide the strongest route from overview to verifiable evidence. The source revision retrieved here is dated Aug 30, 2026. The linked authority identifier is Q7290002. None of the 0 selected statements returned an explicit reference. The first chronological checks are 1986, 2009, 2018 and 1957.
The absence of detail may reflect summary conventions rather than a lack of surviving documentation. The lead is largely declarative, so disagreement and counter-evidence require a deliberate search beyond the opening account. Authority statements aid reconciliation but still require their own references, qualifiers and ranks to be checked.
