The City of Tshwane (covering Pretoria) in South Africa is the single-largest metropolitan municipality in the country, comprising seven regions, 107 wards and 210 councillors. Wards are delimited by the Municipal Demarcation Board (MDB). This entails the division of the whole geographic area of a municipality into smaller geographic areas, called wards. Schedule 1 to the Structures Act, 1998 provides for certain procedures and criteria to which the MDB must comply.

Why this record matters
The phrase “wikimedia list article” supplies a clear boundary for inquiry. It also exposes the unanswered questions: who defined that boundary, when it became stable and which sources sit outside it.
Named sources, stable identifiers and responsible institutions provide the strongest route from overview to verifiable evidence. The source revision retrieved here is dated May 16, 2026. The linked authority identifier is Q6594952. None of the 0 selected statements returned an explicit reference. The first chronological checks are 1998.
A concise general-reference account can conceal disagreements about scope, terminology or the weight assigned to individual sources. The lead is largely declarative, so disagreement and counter-evidence require a deliberate search beyond the opening account. Authority statements aid reconciliation but still require their own references, qualifiers and ranks to be checked.
