Source-derived summary

Thymistadopsis trilinearia is a moth in the family Drepanidae. It was described by Frederic Moore in 1867. It is found in north-eastern India, Sikkim and Sichuan, China.

The wingspan is about 28 mm. The forewings are whitish, suffused with pale sandy ochreous. The first line runs from the costa to just before the middle. It is whitish, edged with brown at the costa and angled outward on the subcostal and medial veins, incurved in the cell and oblique below the median to the inner margin before the middle. The exterior line is straight and oblique from the inner margin at two-thirds, twice sharply angled beneath the costa. It is whitish and edged inwardly with brown. There is also a fine brown marginal line and the space at either side of the submarginal line is rather darker.

Editorial summary

The public source identifies “Thymistadopsis trilinearia” as species of insect. This brief keeps that definition visible, then builds a research path around Thymistadopsis, trilinearia and species.

Editorial reviewUseful for establishing the present vocabulary of the subject while preserving a route back to the evidence on which that vocabulary rests. The current lead gives the account dated anchors—1867—that can be checked directly. The selected authority fields contribute no independent date. Its value is orientation rather than verdict, with Thymistadopsis, trilinearia and species providing the first useful test.
Editorial analysis

Why this record matters

A short description can identify a subject without explaining its stakes. For “Thymistadopsis trilinearia”, the useful work is to connect “species of insect” to the records capable of establishing context and consequence.

Evidence profile

Datasets, specimens, observations and peer-reviewed methods provide the appropriate test for the technical claims summarized here. The source revision retrieved here is dated May 16, 2026. The linked authority identifier is Q14491841. None of the 0 selected statements returned an explicit reference. The first chronological checks are 1867.

Critical limits

Scientific names, classifications and consensus can change while older terminology persists in catalogues and historical literature. The lead is largely declarative, so disagreement and counter-evidence require a deliberate search beyond the opening account. Authority statements aid reconciliation but still require their own references, qualifiers and ranks to be checked.

How to read it

Check terminology, classification and the date of the cited evidence. Scientific names and technical consensus can change while older records retain historical value.
