Baal
Baal is the father figure of Apocalypse. Created by Terry Kavanagh and Adam Pollina, the character first appeared in Rise of Apocalypse #1 (August 1996). In ancient Egypt, Baal of the Sandstormers saw En Sabah Nur's potential power and will to survive, believing that only those who are strong enough to survive hardship and direct conflict are worthy of life.
The army of Pharaoh Rama-Tut and General Ozymandias destroy the Sandstormers, but the two are injured and seek refuge in a cave in which Baal reveals the Celestials' advanced technology hidden to his protege before death.
