Source-derived summary

Clavus infrafusca is a species of sea snail, a marine gastropod mollusk in the family Drilliidae.

Description

The shell grows to a length of 19 mm, its diameter 7 mm. The ground color of the shell is white. The interstices between the ribs are red, while the lowest part of the body whorl is dark red. The very acute, turriform shell contains 10 whorls. The first 2-3 are not shouldered, the others are shouldered, concave above the angle, below hardly convex. The shell shows many opisthocline ribs of which the higher parts are thickened. They show minute red dots at the angle. The body whorl is very large compared to the length of the shell. The aperture has an oval shape.

Editorial summary

The public source identifies “Clavus infrafusca” as species of mollusc. This brief keeps that definition visible, then builds a research path around Clavus, infrafusca and species.

Editorial reviewA practical orientation to terminology and classification, particularly when read beside dated observations, specimens or technical literature. The current 121-word lead offers orientation but no explicit four-digit date, so chronology should not be assumed. The selected authority fields contribute no independent date. Its value is orientation rather than verdict, with Clavus, infrafusca and species providing the first useful test.
Editorial analysis

Why this record matters

A short description can identify a subject without explaining its stakes. For “Clavus infrafusca”, the useful work is to connect “species of mollusc” to the records capable of establishing context and consequence.

Evidence profile

Datasets, specimens, observations and peer-reviewed methods provide the appropriate test for the technical claims summarized here. The source revision retrieved here is dated May 19, 2026. The linked authority identifier is Q5129725. None of the 0 selected statements returned an explicit reference.

Critical limits

A general summary may omit uncertainty, sample limits or methodological disagreement that is explicit in the technical record. The lead is largely declarative, so disagreement and counter-evidence require a deliberate search beyond the opening account. Authority statements aid reconciliation but still require their own references, qualifiers and ranks to be checked.

How to read it

Check terminology, classification and the date of the cited evidence. Scientific names and technical consensus can change while older records retain historical value.
