History
1990s
In January 1994, it was announced that TNT and Cartoon Network would launch by the end of the year. They were originally planned to be launched as 24-hour services on the Apstar 2 satellite service. They had also planned Thai and Mandarin audio tracks for the channel.
On 6 October 1994, Turner Broadcasting System Asia Pacific launched Cartoon Network Asia on both Apstar 1 and Palapa-B2P. The channel was launched at 12:00 pm (SG/HK time). It was broadcast for fourteen hours between 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., while TNT (later Turner Classic Movies) aired on the remainder of the daily schedule and broadcast ten hours of movie programming from Turner's libraries.

Why this record matters
“Cartoon Network (Asia)” is worth following because a concise public description often conceals a longer documentary argument. Here, Cartoon, Network and Asia provides the most credible route into that argument.
The citation trail is more important than the brevity of the summary: it shows where individual claims can be examined in context. The source revision retrieved here is dated Sep 19, 2026. The linked authority identifier is Q108770855. None of the 2 selected statements returned an explicit reference. The first chronological checks are 1994.
The absence of detail may reflect summary conventions rather than a lack of surviving documentation. The lead is largely declarative, so disagreement and counter-evidence require a deliberate search beyond the opening account. Authority statements aid reconciliation but still require their own references, qualifiers and ranks to be checked.
