CFX Bank, whose full name is CFX Bank Limited, was a commercial bank in Zimbabwe. It was one of the licensed commercial banks in the country.
History

The bank has two affiliated companies: CFX Asset Management and CFX Merchant Bank, both of which are also 100% owned by the holding company. In 2009, as a result of changes in Zimbabwean banking laws, Interfin Holdings Limited, acquired a controlling interest in CFX Financial Services. Subsequently, the holding company was renamed Interfin Financial Services Limited, to reflect the new ownership. The trading symbol for the new bank holding company is INTERFIN. The Government of Zimbabwe gave formal approval of the takeover of CFX Bank by Interfin. The Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe has also signaled its approval of the merger of the two institutions.
Ownership
CFX Bank was a publicly traded company. The shares of stock of its holding company, Interfin Financial Services Limited are listed on the Zimbabwe Stock Exchange, where they trade under the symbol INTERFIN. An ownership dispute exists, with the former director of ENG Capital Group claiming that assets were illegally acquired by CFX Bank.
This brief starts where responsible research should: with the source description of “CFX Bank” as commercial bank in Zimbabwe. Everything that follows is an evidence route, not borrowed authority.
Why this record matters
The subject matters to the general reference register because the source frames it as commercial bank in Zimbabwe. Its deeper value depends on whether names, dates, institutions and citations support that framing.
Named sources, stable identifiers and responsible institutions provide the strongest route from overview to verifiable evidence. The source revision retrieved here is dated Jul 30, 2026. The linked authority identifier is Q5010912. 2 of 2 selected statements include explicit references; 0 carry qualifiers and 0 use preferred rank. The first chronological checks are 2006 and 2009.
The absence of detail may reflect summary conventions rather than a lack of surviving documentation. The lead is largely declarative, so disagreement and counter-evidence require a deliberate search beyond the opening account. Authority statements aid reconciliation but still require their own references, qualifiers and ranks to be checked.
