Source-derived summary

8th Street East is an arterial road serving the city of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. It begins as a continuation of a minor residential street (8th Street West) at Lorne Avenue in Saskatoon, and runs through the eastern part of city, eventually exiting the city limits as a country road.

Route description

8th Street East begins at the Lorne Avenue/8th Street West, which provides access to northbound and from southbound Idylwyld Drive. It passes through the residential neighbourhood of Nutana as a treelined four lane street with a boulevard, intersecting Broadway Avenue and forming the southern boundary of the Broadway Business Improvement District.

East of Clarence Avenue it becomes one of the city's main suburban commercial districts with many shops and businesses located along the roadway, including a The Centre, one of Saskatoon's largest shopping malls, near Circle Drive, as well as several strip malls. Until the 1980s–early 1990s it also featured a number of motels and hotels, but these were gradually demolished in favour of retail development. It is also home to many restaurants. The commercial development ends east of McKercher Drive, and it downgrades to a two-lane road east of Boychuk Drive.

After crossing a set of railway tracks, 8th Street East becomes semi-rural and becomes a gravel road east of Brighton Boulevard. After leaving the city limits, it becomes Township Road 364 and travels through the eastern part of Corman Park Rural Municipality to Highway 316 in the RM of Blucher near Patience Lake.

Editorial summary

Begin with the source’s own compact description: “8th Street East (Saskatoon)” is road in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. The dossier treats that line as a proposition to test through Street, East and Saskatoon, not as a finished interpretation.

Editorial reviewA concise reference frame for defining the subject, testing terminology and identifying the institution closest to the evidence. The current 245-word lead offers orientation but no explicit four-digit date, so chronology should not be assumed. The selected authority fields contribute no independent date. For this dossier, Street, East and Saskatoon is the immediate research focus.
Editorial analysis

Why this record matters

The phrase “road in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan” supplies a clear boundary for inquiry. It also exposes the unanswered questions: who defined that boundary, when it became stable and which sources sit outside it.

Evidence profile

The citation trail is more important than the brevity of the summary: it shows where individual claims can be examined in context. The source revision retrieved here is dated May 24, 2026. The linked authority identifier is Q4645479. Authority coordinates are 52.115, -106.670. None of the 1 selected statements returned an explicit reference.

Critical limits

The absence of detail may reflect summary conventions rather than a lack of surviving documentation. The lead is largely declarative, so disagreement and counter-evidence require a deliberate search beyond the opening account. Authority statements aid reconciliation but still require their own references, qualifiers and ranks to be checked.

How to read it

Use the entry as an orientation point, then follow its citations and revision history. Names, dates and institutional relationships should be checked against the original record.
